(the fall of) The Master Builder in rehearsals: a gripping reimagining

The cast of (the fall of) The Master Builder explore the tension and drama of a successful man confronting his past in rehearsals for Zinnie Harris’s thrilling adaptation, opening on the 30 September.

Directed by West Yorkshire Playhouse Artistic Director James Brining (Ode to Leeds, Enjoy, The Crucible, West Yorkshire Playhouse), this electrifying new production sees the unquestionably successful architect Halvard Solness achieve the truly admirable Master Builder Award, until a knock on the door from an unexpected visitor threatens to undermine all he has built.

West Yorkshire Playhouse Associate Artist Reece Dinsdale (Richard III, Alan Bennett’s Untold Stories, West Yorkshire Playhouse) takes the title role, with Susan Cookson (Romeo and Juliet, West Yorkshire Playhouse), Michael Peavoy (Sweeney Todd, West Yorkshire Playhouse & Manchester Royal Exchange), Robert Pickavance (James and the Giant Peach, West Yorkshire Playhouse), David Hounslow (This House, National Theatre), Emma Naomi (Dead Don’t Floss, National Theatre), and Katherine Rose Morely (Last Tango in Halifax, BBC One) joining the rest of the cast.

(the fall of) The Master Builder plays in the Courtyard Theatre from Saturday 30 September to Saturday 21 October.
