  • Planning Coordinator

    West Yorkshire Playhouse is seeking exceptional candidates for the role of Planning Coordinator.

    West Yorkshire Playhouse is one of the largest, most exciting and active producing theatres in the UK. Our mission is to create world class, relevant and compelling theatre and to transform people’s lives by the power and vitality of our work.

    The Planning Coordinator position is a new role within the theatre’s Artistic Planning Team, with responsibility for central coordination of artistic activity and organisational resources for the theatre’s programme of staged work.

  • Head of Media Relations

    West Yorkshire Playhouse is seeking a Head of Media Relations.

    With plans well underway for a major capital redevelopment to take place over the next 2 to 3 years, this is a truly exciting time to join one of the UK’s leading producing theatres.

    In 2015/16 the work of the Playhouse will be seen at over 70 different venues, from major musicals, such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, to small intimate studio pieces such as The Fruit Trilogy and from venues as varied as The Wales Millennium Centre to Amble Parish Hall – as well as on our own famous Quarry and Courtyard stages.

    We are looking for the right person to manage our relationships across all forms of the media to ensure our stories are being told and shared. As a key member of the Marketing and Communications Team, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated and confident individual who has great ideas for developing and selling a pitch, able to build great contacts, both internally and externally, and, when necessary, acting as spokesperson for the theatre. The person will be proactive and able to make a major contribution to discussions at the strategic level of the organisation and across all our communication channels.

  • Head of Construction

    West Yorkshire Playhouse is seeking a Head of Construction.

    The Head of Construction is a challenging role heading up the carpentry and metalwork departments and responsible for managing the construction of all scenery, furniture, stage properties and stage effects. Experience of working with a wide variety of materials including timber, metal and plastics is essential. It is also important that the applicants can ensure that West Yorkshire Playhouse maintains the highest possible production values, building on the theatre’s reputation for work of excellence, integrity and ambition.

  • Security & Fire Officer

    The Playhouse is looking for an experienced Security & Fire Officer.

    Security & Fire Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety of all visitors, staff and property of the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Alongside other performance staff, the Security & Fire Officers share responsibility for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors to the Playhouse by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.

    This position £7.50 per hour, 16 hours per week.

    SIA Licence is essential.

  • Capital Project Advisor

    Welcome to the home of incredible stories.

    West Yorkshire Playhouse is seeking a Capital Project Advisor to support us with our plans for a major capital redevelopment to take place over the next 2 to 3 years.

    In 2015/16 the work of the Playhouse will be seen over 70 different venues, from major musicals, such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, to small intimate studio pieces such as The Fruit Trilogy and from venues as varied as The Wales Millennium Centre to Amble Parish Hall – as well as on our own famous Quarry and Courtyard stages.

    We are looking for the right person to provide mentoring, guidance and practice advice to the Chief Executives of the Playhouse during their preparation for the submission of the capital bid via Leeds City Council (LCC). This development is intended to have a transformative effect on the commercial operations of the organisations. This role is key in supporting the organisation in this project.
