Pianist Emma Pryde gathers together a host of fellow professional singers and musicians, to bring you an exciting and uplifting afternoon concert of classical and soul music exploring themes of beauty, hope and inspiration.
Beginning with the lyricism and lush harmonies of well-known French classics by Debussy, Ravel, Massenet, performed by several special guest soloists, and followed by a dynamic set of popular soul songs celebrating friendship, hope and courage, featuring six vocalists and a four-piece band, this promises to be a fantastic joyful afternoon not to be missed.
This event is being held to raise money for the Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal in aid of Crohn's and Colitis Uk, which is raising funds for urgently needed capsule endoscopy systems at Leeds General Infirmary and St James's Hospital.
Emma Pryde explains, "As a colitis sufferer myself, I know how essential this equipment is in helping the diagnosis and treatment of colitis and crohn's disease. Following major surgery last year I wanted to celebrate my recovery by raising funds and awareness for the charity which has done so much to help me and my family. I am delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor and consort to this fundraising concert, and I hope you, the public, will come along and join us all in supporting this worthwhile cause."
