| Creative Learning Introduction The West Yorkshire Playhouse Arts Development department works with communities, individuals and educational groups across Leeds and West Yorkshire. Projects are as diverse as training for nursery and early years workers to the creation of a nightclub run by learning disabled adults. If you are a teacher, a community leader, a student, are involved in arts education, or are a member of the West Yorkshire community read on to find out more about our current projects. We've just published the latest edition of Connect, the annual journal of West Yorkshire Playhouse's education and community work. You can view and download it on Issuu. The Creative Education team run a comprehensive range of activities both at the Playhouse and in schools. Work extends from the early years through primary and secondary schools and on to FE and HE institutions. West Yorkshire Playhouse Touring Company performs at the Playhouse and tours to early years settings, primary and secondary schools in Leeds. Plays are devised or commissioned by the company especially for each of the target age groups. Work under the Creative Communities banner takes place in and for the community, with adults and older people and with young people out of school hours. First Floor is West Yorkshire Playhouse’s creative arts space just for young people. |
