A new creative space for young people in leeds

First Floor is West Yorkshire Playhouse’s place where young people between the ages of 11 (at Secondary School) and 19 can take part in creative activites.

Below is a summary of our programme up until March. You don’t need to have any experience to join any of these activities – just come along and give it a go!

Open Day – Free Event
Saturday 16 January
11.00am – 4.00pm

Call in any time to find out more about what is on offer this term – you can join in one of the free sessions, have a snack or just have a look around. We hope to be joined by our Patron Jack P Shepherd (schedule permitting) who plays David Platt in Coronation Street. Everyone welcome!

Saturday Sessions
11.00am – 12.30pm
12 to 19 yrs (11yrs if you are at Secondary School)
Come to our Music, Art and Drama sessions and try something new or develop your skills.

Every Saturday from 23 January 2010 to Easter. No need to book in advance.
Everyone welcome! Cost: £1 per session

Lucky Dip: Lucky Dip - come and try out this surprise workshop!

Come and spend a day on your favourite artform. You will need to bring a packed lunch. Cost: £2 per day

Get creative in this visual art workshop using museum collections and personal objects for inspiration.

Drama Thursday 18 February, 10.00am – 3.00pm

Fuse Action and drama to create a piece of theatre in one day.

Music Friday 19 February, 10.00am – 3.00pm

Always wanted to write a song? This is your chance to learn how with our crash course. By the end of the day you will have written, rehearsed and recorded your hit! Numbers are limited, so make sure you book the days you want to attend.

Breeze Arts Foundation

14 January to 1 April, Thursdays and Fridays, 10.00am – 3.00pm 15 to 19yrs
FREE Funded by PAYP Out of School Activities Team

This course is open to anyone not attending regular education, training or employment. Learn performance skills, find out about different jobs in the theatre, create your own performance and gain Arts Award accreditation.
