First Floor Funders

First Floor is part of West Yorkshire Playhouse.

First Floor was opened in January 2009 following a 3 year, £600,000 fundraising campaign to convert the theatre's former proms and furniture store. The funds came from a mix of public bodies, trusts and foundations and overwhelming generosity from the Playhouse's audience members and individual supporters.

First Floor is reliant on project funding and delivering work with or for partner organisations within the city. Young people taking part in projects at First Floor pay a very small fee towards the cost of their activity (usually £1 per workshop) and some activities are free, and we are constantly seeking new and sustainable funding paths to ensure that all this work can continue.
