So unless you've been hiding out in your writing garrett you will not have escaped the news that James Brining is our new Artistic Director. We're are very excited by the appointment not least because it'll be the first time a Leeds United supporter has headed the theatre. As for what it will mean for us in the future watch this space...

However, that is not what I'm talking about today. Today, I'm drawing your attention to a conference happening right here at your friendly local Playhouse. Vamps, Vixens and Feminists is looking at the role of women in the performing arts. Even if you don't think that is for you, just look at the line up! Writers Sally Wainwright and Penelope Skinner, Chris Campbell of the Royal Court and Erica Whyman of Northern Stage. Quite frankly you can't afford not to be there. And all this for a tenner. It is a heck of a lot cheaper than getting the train to London to meet these people.

It's on Friday March 2nd and you should be able to book by following this link.

See you there!
