Where we are

West Yorkshire Playhouse is on Quarry Hill, opposite the Bus Station in the centre of Leeds.

Getting to the Playhouse

Opening Hours

Reception is open from 8.30am until 7.30pm, or 8.30pm until 4.30pm on days when there is no performance.

Box Office is open from 10am until 15 minutes after the show starts, or 10am until 6pm when there is no performance.

Our Café is open from 9am until 7.30pm

A full range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and pastries, snacks and sandwiches is available throughout the day. Hot food is served during the following times, all our dishes are locally sourced freshly prepared, with a main dish costing from only £6:

Breakfast 9am to 11.30am
Lunch 12noon until 2pm
Dinner 5pm until 7.30pm

The Bar is open from 5.30pm whenever there is a performance and stays open until well after the show finishes. Beat the queues by pre-ordering your interval drinks before the show. If you ask for a plastic glass then you can take your drink with you into the theatre.

Coffee Shop

You can buy hot and cold drinks and bags of sweets from the Coffee Shop which opens 30 minutes before the show. During the interval Ice Creams are for sale in the Foyer.

The Theatre

The Playhouse has two stages – The Quarry Theatre and The Courtyard Theatre. The Quarry Theatre has 750 seats. The Courtyard Theatre is a flexible space but in its standard layout seats 350. Both theatres have level access. They open 30 minutes before the performance starts, and we like people to get to their seats in good time so the show can start on time.
